The January Light (Print)
This is a reproduction print of The January Light, measuring 12” x 16” (30 x 40 cm.). To see the original, click here.
Originally painted on a large, 40” x 30” (101 x 76 cm.) canvas, this piece takes you to the middle of the forest, where a heavy snow has fallen. It intrigues me, the amount of pinks, lavenders, oranges and blues that exist in fallen snow. The sunlight plays through the trees creating a wonderful spectrum. In The January Light, I went slightly abstract to capture that spectrum, giving each pop of light a single brushstroke, and enhancing the effect of branches and activity up above.
Squint your eyes at this one. It becomes real.
